Sh. Ramesh Narayanaswami is an IAS officer of the Union Territories Cadre, 1971 Batch, and he retired from government service in November, 2007, as Chief Secretary, Govt. of NCT of Delhi. Prior to this, he had served on a number of important posts both in the Central Government and in the Govts. of various States and Union Territories such as Goa, Arunachal Pradesh and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Among the posts held by him were that of Additional Secretary in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, Principal Secretary (Urban Development), Principal Secretary (Home) and Principal Secretary (Finance) in the Govt. of the NCT of Delhi, Chairman, NDMC, Secretary to the Govt. of India in the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs, and Chief Secretary, Govt. of the NCT of Delhi.
