| Disposal of Applications and Appeals |
| A person can make the request in writing or through the electronic form.All the application forms for filing an appeal are available on the website. To access the forms click here. |

| The Competent Authority is also authorized to accept oral requests and in any case enjoined under law to render all reasonable assistance to persons making a written request. The Competent Authority has to pass orders on the application within 15 days of receiving a request for information and in any case within 30 days, supplying the information in English or the official language. If it is rejected, the reasons for such rejection, together with information on how an Appeal may be filed and particulars of the Appellate Authority have to be provided to the applicant under law. The Act enables citizens to get the required information as a matter of right, barring certain cases where there are restrictions under Section 6. |
