To constitute a Delhi Commission for Women and to provide for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.  Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the National Capital Territory of Delhi in the Forty-Fifth Year of the Republic of India as follows: -

PRELIMINARY

	Short title, extent and commencement: -
	1. This Act may be called the Delhi Commission for Women Act, 1994. 2. It extends to the whole of the National Capital Territory of Delhi. 3. It shall come into force on such date as the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi may, by notification in the official Gazette, appoint
	Definitions: - In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires:-
	1. ‘Capital’ means the National Capital Territory of Delhi; 2. ‘Commission’ means the Delhi Commission for Women constituted under section 3; 3. ‘Government’ means the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi; 4. ‘Member’ means a Member of the Commission and includes the Member, Secretary; 5. ‘National Commission’ means the National Commission for Women constituted under section 3 of the National Commission for women Act, 1990; Central Act, 20 of 1990 6. ‘Prescribed’ means prescribed by rules made under this Act;
