PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION-BFA
  Student seeking admission must apply on the prescribed Form  available along with the Prospectus from the Academic Cell of the College  from 10th June, 2013 to 22nd June, 2013 on payment of Rs.  500/- for General/OBC Category, and Rs. 250/- for SC/ST and Physically  challenged (Deaf & Dumb & Physically Handicapped) categories,  in  cash or by a Demand  Draft from State Bank of India/ or by crossed Indian Postal Order payable  to the DDO, College  of Art, New Delhi, at New Delhi between 10 am and 4 pm on  all working days including Saturday. Bank  Drafts (other than SBI) and Money Orders will not be accepted. Request  for Application Form through  Post should be accompanied with a Demand Draft from State Bank  of India or crossed Indian Postal Order for Rs. 500/- for General Category/OBC  and  Rs. 250/- for SC/ST and Physically challenged (Deaf & Dumb &  Physically Handicapped) categories  along with a self addressed envelop of  size 12"x10" affixed with postage stamp for Rs.100/-. The College  accepts no responsibility for loss or delay in transit by post. The Application  Form duly filled along with documents specified as under must reach the Office  of the Principal or delivered personally against Counter Foil at the College  between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on any working day including Saturday on or before,  22nd June, 2013, and by 25th  June 2013 for applications by Registered/Speed  Post/Courier. No application received thereafter will be considered. The  candidates may also download the Application Form from the College Website  and submit the  same duly filled along with the requisite Demand Draft from State Bank of India or/ a crossed  Indian Postal Order payable to the DDO, College of Art, New Delhi, at New Delhi and enclosures on or before the stipulated date.

The  candidates may also download the Application Form from the College Website and  submit the same duly filled along with the requisite Demand Draft from State Bank of  India or/ a crossed Indian Postal Order payable to the DDO, College of Art, New  Delhi , at New Delhi with enclosures on or before the  stipulated date.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION-BFA

     
  1. The  candidates seeking admission to BFA Degree Course must have passed any one of  the following examinations with 50% or more marks in the aggregate of five  Subjects.
  2.  
         
    1. Senior  School Certificate Examination with all subjects (12 year course) of the  Central Board of Secondary Education, New    Delhi.
    2.    
    3. Indian  School Certificate Examination with all subjects (12 year course) of the  Council for Indian School Certificates Examination, New Delhi.
    4.    
    5. Intermediate  Examination with all subjects of the Indian University/Board recognized by the University of Delhi.
    6.    
    7. Pre-University  (2 years) Examination of an Indian University/Board recognized by the University of Delhi.
    8.    
    9. Any other  Examination recognized as equivalent to the Senior School Certificate  Examination (12 year course) of the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi.
    10.  
     
  3. Concession  of 5% marks in the minimum eligibility requirement will be allowed to :-

    1. Candidates  who have taken Drawing, Painting, Sculpture or Applied Art as one of the  subjects in their qualifying examination.
    2.

  5. Candidates  with compartments are not eligible to apply.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION-MFA

     
  1. A  candidate seeking admission to the Course must have passed the Bachelor of Fine  Art Degree of four year duration after 10+2 offered by the University of Delhi  or an examination recognized equivalent thereto with 50% or more marks in the  aggregate.
  2.  
  3. Concession  of 5% marks in the minimum eligibility requirement will be allowed to:-

    1. (a)  Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/OBC Candidates.
    2.    
    3. Widows  and/or children of Armed Personnel.

METHOD OF SELECTION-BFA
  Only  the candidates securing 50% or more marks in the Aptitude Test will be  considered for admission to the Foundation. The Final selection of the  candidates will be made by the College strictly in order of merit in the  following manner:-

     
  1. Weightage  of 60% marks will be given for Aptitude Test (as listed below).
  2.  
  3. Weightage  of 40% marks will be given for marks secured by the candidate in the 10+2 or  equivalent examination.

The List of selected candidates will be displayed on the College  Notice Board on 9th July, 2013 at 4.00 p.m. No individual communication to the candidates will be  sent in this regard. A candidate selected for admission must  join the College by depositing the prescribed fees and other charges by 11th July, 2013 by 4.00 p.m, failing  which his/her admission is liable to be cancelled and offered to the next  candidate on the Waiting List.
   APTITUDE TEST
  The  Aptitude Test will consist of the following papers:-
  OBJECT DRAWING
(for all the Specializations except Art History) Drawing of  objects with light and shade showing background and foreground in pencil on ½  imperial size paper.

           

        Marks: 60

Time: 1½ hours.

FOR ART HISTORY SPECIALIZATION ONLY
  Candidates to identify and write their views/crit on three Visuals on art,  artists, period etc.

           

        Marks: 60

Time: 1½ hours.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE (for all the specializations)
  Subjective and Objective type questions related to Art, Personalities, Events  & Current Affairs (Written Paper in Hindi or English )

           

        Marks: 30

Time: ½ hours.

COMPOSITION FOR APPLIED ART SPECIALIZATION
  Illustration from memory on a given subject in water color, tempera, ink or oil  pastels on ¼ imperial size paper.

           

        Marks: 60

Time: 1½ hours.

FOR ART HISTORY SPECIALIZATION
  Candidates to write an analysis/premise on a topic to be given at the time of  the Examination in about 800 words in either English or Hindi-

FOR PAINTING SPECIALIZATION
  Painting from memory on a given subject in water color tempera, ink or oil  pastels on ¼ imperial size paper.

  A test in Design to asses concept, application, ability in using line, color  and space in the visualization on a subject to be given at the time of the  Examination, in tempera, ink or oil pastels on ¼ imperial size paper.

The Candidates should bring their own drawing board and materials  for the Test. Only the answer sheets and clay will be provided by the College.
    METHOD OF SELECTION-MFA
   The candidate will be required to appear before an Assessment Committee  along with a Portfolio of Practical Work and for Viva of the Programme of Study  submitted with the Application Form.

     
  1. Weightage  of 60% marks will be given in assessment of the Portfolio of works and Viva of  Programme of Study.
  2.  
  3. Weightage  of 40% marks will be given for marks secured by the candidate in the last  qualifying examination.

Only  candidates securing 50 % or more marks in the assessment will be considered for  admission to the Course. The final selection will be made strictly in order of  merit.

ADDITIONAL SEATS
   FOREIGN NATIONALS FOR BFA
  The approved seats in each Specialization are Applied Art-2, Art History-2,  Painting-2, Print Making-2, Visual Communication-2 and Sculpture-1
  All foreign students seeking admission to the College should apply to the  Office of the Foreign Students Adviser of the University of Delhi (Phone  011-27666756) who will recommend their applications to the College after  verifying qualifications etc. under the University of Delhi Rules. They will  however have to apply on the prescribed Application Form available from the  college within the period stipulated (i.e. 10th-22nd June, 2013) and  appear and qualify the Aptitude Test. They will not have to compete with  General category students.
  Foreign Students admitted in this College will be required to get tested for  AIDS at National Institute of Communicable Diseases, Delhi as per University of  Delhi rules and submit fitness certificate to this effect to the College. They  have to under go a mandatory medical examination and deposit copies of the  valid travel documents (including the student Visa) in the office of the  Foreign Students' Advisor, University   of Delhi.
  KASHMIRI MIGRANT (KM) FOR BFA
  In addition to the approved seats, one seat is reserved for KM candidate.

     
  1. All  those KM candidates who meet the minimum eligibility criteria for admission and  the minimum eligibility marks in the entrance test shall be eligible for  admission in the order of their merit, keeping in view the availability of  seats reserved for them.
  2.  
  3. The  Candidates seeking admission under KM seat should submit attested copies of all  documents including Certificate of registration as Kashmir Migrants issued by  the Relief Commissioner, Jammu or Divisional Commissioner, Delhi to establish  the status of the applicants as registered migrants.

OBC CANDIDATES BFA/MFA
  As per Govt. of NCT of Delhi notification.
  RESERVATION-  BFA / MFA
  FOR SCHEDULED CASTE/SCHEDULED TRIBE CANDIDATES
  Reservation of 15% and 7.5% of the total seats available in each specialization  for SC/ST candidates respectively subject to the candidates qualifying the  Aptitude Test their merit list will be prepared and declared separately.
  They  will have to submit a Certificate in their name from the competent authority as  listed below alongwith the application form.

     
  1. District  Magistrate/Additional District Magistrate/Deputy Collector/Ist Class  Stipendiary Magistrate, City Magistrate (not below the rank of Ist Class  Stipendiary Magistrate), Subdivisional Magistrate/Magistrate Taluk/Executive  Magistrate/Additional Assistant Commissioner.
  2.  
  3. Revenue  Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar.
  4.  
  5. Chief  Presidency Magistrate / Additional Chief Presidency Magistrate /Presidency  Magistrate.
  6.  
  7. Chief  Sub-Divisional Officer to the area where the candidate and his/her family  normally resides.
  8.  
  9. Administrator/Secretary  to the Administrator/Development Officer (Lacaddive and Minicoy Islands).

FOR WIDOWS AND/OR CHILDREN OF ARMED PERSONNEL/PARA-MILITARY FORCES
  5% of the total numbers of seats in each Specialization are reserved for widows  and/or children of the Officers and men of the Armed Forces including Para  Military Personnel. On qualifying the Aptitude Test the admission will be as  per the order given below.

     
  1. Widows/Wards of Defence/Paramilitary personnel killed in action;
  2.  
  3. Wards of serving personnel and ex-servicemen/ Paramilitary  personnel disabled in action;
  4.  
  5. Widows/Wards of Defence/Paramilitary personnel who died in peace  time with death attributable to military service;
  6.  
  7. Wards of Defence personnel/ Paramilitary personnel disabled in  peace time with disability attributable to the military service; and
     
  1. Wards of Ex-servicemen       personnel and serving personnel/ Paramilitary personnel/  police personnel who are in receipt of       Gallantry Awards; 1) Param Vir Chakra 2)        Ashok Chakra.

PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED-BFA
  3% of the seats Specialization-wise are reserved for Physically Handicapped  candidates who meet the minimum eligibility requirement set for General  Category candidates and subject to their qualifying the Aptitude Test.
  A  Medical Certificate issued by Govt.   Hospital notified by the  National Commission for disabled person should be attached along with  Application Form. The Medical Certificate should have been issued three or less  than three years before the admission date.

PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED-MFA
  3% of the total number of seats (i.e. 2 seats only) will be reserved for  Physically Handicapped candidates who meet the minimum eligibility requirement  set for General Category candidates and subject to their qualifying the  Assessment. Their merit list will be prepared and declared separately
  A Medical Certificate issued by Govt.   Hospital notified by the  National Commission for disabled person should be attached along with  Application Form. The Medical Certificate should have been issued three or less  than three years before the admission date.
  Note:  1) As per the decision of the Admission & Courses Committee of the College  constituted by the University   of Delhi. (i) the seats  will be filled by rotation from amongst Specializations of Applied Art,  Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture, and Visual communication. Accordingly, the  seats for the session 2013-14 will be filled in the Specializations of Applied  Art and Painting. (ii) If no Physically Handicapped candidates apply in the  above mentioned Specializations, the seats will be filled from the General  Category in the same Specializations

The  intake capacity will be 10 (Ten) in each of the Specializations, of which at  least a minimum of 6 seats in each Course will be reserved for Delhi  candidates, while 4 seats may be filled from among the candidates of the other  Indian States/Foreign Countries, subject to their application.
    (As per order of the Hon’ble  High Court, Delhi, the  following may be taken NOTE of:

     
  1. The six seats to be reserved for Delhi candidates in each  Course is the minimum and not  the maximum.
  2.  
  3. There is no reservation in favour of  students of other Indian States/foreign countries).

DIPLOMA COURSES
  In order to provide education in Fine Art to Deaf and Dumb students, the University of Delhi  under the relevant Ordinance has instituted in the College of Art  a Diploma Course in Fine Art since 1980.  These students will study the  practical subjects prescribed for the B.F.A. Course but are exempted from the  study of Theory subjects.
  ELIGIBILITY FOR DIPLOMA
  The students who have passed the Secondary School Certificate (Class-X)  conducted by the C.B.S.E. New Delhi  or an examination equivalent will be eligible for admission to this Course  subject to their passing the Aptitude Test only in practical subjects. The  admission to this Course is given for five seats only, one in each of the five  disciplines i.e. Applied Art, Painting, Print Making, Sculpture, and Visual  Communication as per the modality of admission of University of Delhi-ANNEXURE.
  POST-GRADUATE DIPLOMA COURSES
  In order to provide education in Fine Art to the Deaf and Dumb students, the University of Delhi  under the relevant Ordinance has also instituted in the College of Art,  a Postgraduate Diploma Course in Fine Art from 1994. The admission to this  Course is given for five seats only, one in each of the five Specializations of  Applied Art, Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture and Visual Communication. These  students will study the Practical subjects prescribed for the MFA Courses but  are exempted from the study of Theory subjects.
  ELIGIBILITY IN POST-GRADUATE DIPLOMA
  A candidate seeking admission to the Course must have passed the Diploma in  Fine Art of the four year duration conducted by the University of Delhi  or an examination recognized as equivalent, and will be considered eligible for  admission on their qualifying the Assessment as applicable to the general  candidates for admission to MFA Course. The procedure of admissions is as  mentioned in the enclosed Modalities of University of Delhi, Annexure.

UNIVERSITY OF DELHI

MODALITIES FOR ADMISSION TO VARIOUS UNDER GRADUATE/POST-GRADUATE  COURSES FOR THE  PHYSICALLY  DISABLED CANDIDATES

     
  1. Three percent (3%) seats in all undergraduate and post graduate   institutions (including professional and technical institutions) will be   reserved for candidates with physical disabilities.
  2.  
  3. Reservation will also be applicable to institutions where admission is through Entrance Examinations
  4.  
  5. Reservation will be implemented college wise in the undergraduate   courses and department wise in postgraduate courses as well as in those   undergraduate courses where teaching is available only in one   Department/College.
  6.  
  7. Candidate seeking admission under reservation shall be required to   fulfill other criteria of admission as detailed in eligibility   conditions except relaxation of 5% marks in the minimum eligibility   conditions. In case of a course where admission is by entrance   examination 5% concession shall be granted in the minimum eligibility   condition for admission to the test.
  8.  
  9. Candidates with physical disabilities who are able to secure   admission in the general category will not be counted in the 3% quota.
  10.  
  11. The 3% reservation may be allocated as follows 1% for persons with   low vision or blindness; 1% for hearing impaired; 1% for those with loco   motor disabilities and or cerebral palsy.  However if sufficient   candidates are not available in a sub-category then candidates from   other the sub-categories should be considered in their stead.
  12.  
  13. Candidates with more than one type of reservation.  This reservation   shall cut across the existing reservations of SC/ST;   children/widows/wives of officers and men armed forces including   paramilitary forces killed/disabled in action or those who died/ were   disabled on duty, etc. in accordance with the principal of interlocking   reservations.  In other words, there will be sub-reservations for   physically disabled candidates in each
        Reserved category, thus a disabled SC/ST candidate would have preference over an able-bodied SC/ST candidate.
       
        Note: It is clarified that there is no bar to a candidate to seeking   admission under the physically handicapped category to seek admission   either under the General Category or any other reserved category if the   candidate is otherwise eligible and entitled to take the benefit of any   other reservation.
       
     
  14.  
  15. If sufficient numbers of the candidates are not available under the   reserved categories then their seats may be filled with general category   candidates.
  16.  
  17. Colleges/Departments are free to exceed the 3% reservation quota if   necessary. (Note: ordinarily the number of seats reserved would be 1 for   33; 2 for 67 and 3 for 100 and so on.  However, the colleges may round   off the number of reserved seats to next higher level, if the number   calculated seats falls more than half way between two levels. E.g. for   54 seats the number of reserved seats would be 1.62, which may be   rounded off to 2 though it may appear to be 4% quota.  In essence, the   nature of reservation should be enabling in spirit and the institution   not feel prevented from exceeding the 3% quota.
  18.  
  19. The Dean Students Welfare (DSW) will arrange for professional   counseling of physically challenged students to enable them to decide   about courses keeping in view their aptitude, disability, and future   career prospects.
          Note: (a) In the event of any   complaint or doubt either by the University authorities or by the   Principal of the College as to the genuineness of the certificate or the   extent of the disability of the candidate concerned or in regard to the   entitlement of the candidate to if it is found that the candidate is   not eligible or entitled under this category, cancel the admission after   issuing a show cause notice to the candidate concerned giving him 15   days time to reply.
        Note:(b) The candidate would   give a declaration to the effect that information furnished in the   application form and the documents annexed to the same and information   contained therein are true and correct and that in the event of the same   being found to be incorrect in any respect his admission is liable to   be cancelled, in addition to any other action that may be taken against   him.

  21. In courses where, admission is through entrance test, the candidates   should fill separate forms prescribed by each Institution/College/   Faculty in duplicate. Both copies should be clearly marked for category   of reservation. The Institution/College/ Faculty shall send one copy of   the form for registration at the DSW office.  However, if the   candidate’s desire, they may submit forms at the office of the DSW which   shall arrange to dispatch the forms to colleges/ departments where the   candidates wish to seek admission.

  23. Colleges would notify the DSW about dates of tests/ interview   (where-ever applicable) so these applicants can be informed accordingly.   The DSW would notify these dates on the notice board and also post the   same on the DU website.

  25. In all cases, separate merit lists will be made for disabled   candidates under the 3% quota.  However, if the number of applicants for   a course/institution exceeds the quota, a priority list of candidates   will be prepared taking into account:

            (a) Marks obtained in the qualifying examination for admission and (b) Severity of the disability

    Note: Marks obtained in the qualifying exams being same, priority will be given to candidate whose disability is more Severe, e.g., complete loss of vision over partial loss of vision OR loss of a complete limb over loss of a few fingers etc.

  27. The Delhi university Disabilities Committee shall strictly monitor   the implementation of the provision of the reservation in all   constituent or affiliated colleges/ departments/ institutions of the   University of Delhi.

  29. Grievances regarding admissions under reservation for persons with   disabilities should be reported to the Dean Student’s Welfare, who will   convene meeting of the Grievance Committee set up for purpose.
