PROCEDURE FOR  ADMISSION-BFA


  Student seeking admission  must apply on the prescribed  Form available  along with the  Prospectus from the Academic Cell  of the College  from  6th  June, 2016 to 21st June, 2016 on  cash payment of Rs.500/- for General/OBC  Category,  and Rs. 250/- for  SC/ST and Physically challenged  (Deaf & Dumb &  Physically challenged)  categories.   The  Application  Form duly filled along with  documents  specified as under must  reach the Office  of the Principal  or  delivered personally against Counter  Foil at the College   between  10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on any working day  including Saturday on  or  before,  21st  June, 2016, and by 23rd June   2016 for  applications by Registered/Speed  Post/Courier. No  application   received thereafter will be considered. The   candidates may also  download  the Application Form from the College  Website  and   submit  the  same duly filled along with the requisite Demand  Draft from  State Bank of India or/ a crossed   Indian Postal Order  payable to the DDO,  College of Art, New Delhi,  at New Delhi and  enclosures on or before  the stipulated date.

  The College accepts no  responsibility for loss or delay in transit by post.

  The Application Form duly  filled along with documents specified as under must reach the Office of  the Principal or delivered personally against Counter Foil at the College  between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on any working day from 23rd June, 2016 to  2nd July, 2016 (except 1st July, 2015) and by 4th July 2016 for  applications by   Registered/Speed Post/Courier. No application received thereafter will be  considered. The  candidates may  also download  the  Application Form from the College Website and   submit the same duly   filled along with the requisite Demand  Draft  from State Bank of India or/ a crossed Indian Postal Order payable  to the DDO,  College of Art,  New  Delhi , at New Delhi with  enclosures  on or before the stipulated date.

ELIGIBILITY FOR  ADMISSION-BFA 

     
  1. The candidates  seeking admission to BFA Degree Course must have passed any one of the  following examinations with 50% or more marks in the aggregate of  five Subjects. Candidates with compartment are not eligible to apply.

   

     
         
    1. Senior School Certificate Examination with all subjects (12 year  course) of  the  Central Board of Secondary Education, New  Delhi.   
    2.    
    3. Indian School Certificate Examination with all subjects (12 year  course) of  the  Council for Indian School Certificates Examination,  New Delhi.   
    4.    
    5. Intermediate Examination with all subjects of the Indian  University/Board recognized  by the University of Delhi.   
    6.    
    7. Pre-University (2 years) Examination of an Indian University/Board  recognized by the  University of Delhi.   
    8.    
    9. Any  other  Examination recognized as equivalent to the  Senior School  Certificate  Examination (12 year course) of the  Central Board of  Secondary Education, New Delhi.
    10.

    1. Candidates who have taken Drawing, Painting, Sculpture or Applied  Art as one of  the  subjects in their qualifying examination.

ELIGIBILITY FOR  ADMISSION-MFA

     
  1. A   candidate seeking admission to the Course must have passed the Bachelor of  Fine  Art Degree in the relevant specialization of four year duration  after 10+2 offered by the University of Delhi  or an examination  recognized equivalent thereto with 50% or more marks in the  aggregate. 
  2.  
  3. Concession   of 5% marks in the minimum eligibility requirement will be allowed to:- 

   

     
         
    1. (a) Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/OBC Candidates.   
    2.    
    3. Widows and/or children of Armed Personnel.   
    4.    
    5. Physically challenged Candidates.

METHOD OF SELECTION-BFA


  Only the candidates securing 50% or more marks  in the Aptitude  Test  will be  considered for admission to the  Foundation. The Final   selection of the  candidates will be  made by the College strictly in  order  of merit in the   following manner:-

     
  1. Weightage   of 60% marks will be given for Aptitude Test (as listed below). 
  2.  
  3. Weightage   of 40% marks will be given for marks secured by the candidate in the 10+2  or  equivalent examination.

The List of selected candidates will   be  displayed on the College  Notice Board on 8th July,  2016 at  4.00  p.m. No individual communication  to the candidates  will be  sent  in this regard. A  candidate selected for  admission must  join the  College by  depositing the prescribed fees  and other charges by 13th July,  2016 by 4.00 p.m, failing which his/her  admission is liable to be  cancelled and offered to the  next   candidate on the Waiting List. 


   APTITUDE  TEST 


   The Aptitude Test will consist of the following papers:-

   OBJECT DRAWING
   (for all the Specializations except Art History) Drawing  of   objects  with light and shade showing background and foreground  in  pencil on ½ imperial size paper.

    Candidates to identify and write their views/crit on three Visuals  on   art,  artists, period etc.

GENERAL  KNOWLEDGE (for  all the specializations)
    Subjective and Objective type questions related to Art,  Personalities,   Events  & Current Affairs (Written Paper in  Hindi or English )

COMPOSITION  FOR APPLIED ART   SPECIALIZATION 
    Illustration from memory on a given subject in water color, tempera,  ink   or oil  pastels on ¼ imperial size paper.

FOR ART  HISTORY  SPECIALIZATION 
    Candidates to write an analysis/premise on a topic to be given at  the   time of  the Examination in about 800 words in either  English or Hindi-

    Modeling from memory in clay on a given subject.

FOR  visual communication   SPECIALIZATION
    A test in Design to asses concept, application, ability in using  line,   color  and space in the visualization on a subject to be  given at the  time  of the  Examination, in tempera, ink or oil  pastels on ¼  imperial size  paper.

The  Candidates should bring   their own drawing board and materials   for the Test. Only the answer   sheets and clay will be provided by  the College. 

METHOD OF  SELECTION-MFA 
     The candidate will be required  to appear before an  Assessment  Committee  along with a Portfolio of  Practical Work  and for Viva of the  Programme of Study  submitted  with the  Application Form.

     
  1. Weightage   of 60% marks will be given in assessment of the Portfolio of works and Viva  of  Programme of Study. 
  2.  
  3. Weightage   of 40% marks will be given for marks secured by the candidate in the last   qualifying examination.


      The assessment will  be  conducted as follows

    The Final selection of the candidates will be made strictly  in  order of merit in the following manner : -

     
  1. Weightage  of 60% marks will be given in the assessment of 05 works submitted by the  Candidate.

 

     
  1. Weightage  of 40% marks will be given for marks secured by the candidate in the  Bachelor of Fine Art Degree  or equivalent examination.

ADDITIONAL   SEATS  


     FOREIGN NATIONALS FOR BFA 

  The approved seats in each  Specialization are Applied Art-2, Art   History-2,  Painting-2,  Print Making-2, Visual Communication-2 and   Sculpture-1.All foreign  students seeking admission to the College should apply to   the   Office of the Foreign Students Adviser of the University of  Delhi   (Phone  011-27666756) who will recommend their applications to  the  College  after  verifying qualifications etc. under the   University of Delhi Rules.  They will  however have to apply on  the  prescribed Application Form  available from the  college  within the  period stipulated (i.e. 8th  -22nd June, 2015). 
   The Foreign National candidates seeking  admission to BFA Degree  Course must have a clear pass in 10+2 or equivalent  examination(as  mentioned in the Prospectus) with 50% or more marks in aggregate  of five  subjects having one Fine Art subject (Drawing, Painting, Sculpture,   Printmaking or Applied Art) which  is  compulsory for them.
   The Final selection  of the candidates will be made strictly  in order of merit in the  following manner : -

     
  1. Weightage  of 60% marks will be given to  Fine Art subject (Drawing, Painting,  Sculpture, Printmaking or Applied Art).

 

     
  1. Weightage  of 40% marks will be given  for marks secured by the candidate in the 10+2  or equivalent examination.


  Foreign Students admitted in this College will be required to get  tested   for  AIDS at National Institute of Communicable  Diseases, Delhi as  per  University of  Delhi rules and submit  fitness certificate to  this effect  to the College. They  have  to under go a mandatory  medical examination and  deposit copies of  the  valid travel  documents (including the student Visa)  in  the office of the  Foreign  Students' Advisor, University of   Delhi. 


 KASHMIRI  MIGRANT (KM) FOR  BFA

       5% of approved seats in each specialization are   reserved for KM  candidate.

     
  1. All   those KM candidates who meet the minimum eligibility criteria for  admission and  the minimum eligibility marks in the entrance test  shall be eligible for  admission in the order of    their  merit, keeping in view the availability of  seats reserved for them.

 

     
  1. The   Candidates seeking admission under KM seat should submit attested copies of  all  documents including Certificate of registration as Kashmir  Migrants issued by  the Relief        Commissioner, Jammu or Divisional Commissioner, Delhi to establish the status  of the applicants as registered migrants.

RESERVATION-   BFA / MFA  


     FOR SCHEDULED  CASTE/SCHEDULED  TRIBE CANDIDATES 

    Reservation of 15% and 7.5% of the total seats available in each  specialization  for SC/ST candidates respectively subject to the  candidates qualifying   the  Aptitude Test their merit list will  be prepared and declared   separately.
    They  will have to submit a Certificate in their name from  the   competent authority as  listed below alongwith the  application form.

     
  1. District   Magistrate/Additional District        Magistrate/Deputy Collector/Ist Class  Stipendiary Magistrate,  City       Magistrate (not below the rank of Ist  Class  Stipendiary Magistrate),        Subdivisional Magistrate/Magistrate  Taluk/Executive        Magistrate/Additional  Assistant Commissioner.

 

     
  1. Revenue   Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar.

 

     
  1. Chief   Presidency Magistrate / Additional Chief        Presidency Magistrate /Presidency  Magistrate.

 

     
  1. Chief   Sub-Divisional Officer to the area where        the candidate and his/her family  normally resides.

FOR  WIDOWS AND/OR CHILDREN  OF  ARMED PERSONNEL/PARA-MILITARY  FORCES 


    5% of the total numbers of seats in each Specialization are reserved  for   widows  and/or children of the Officers and men of the  Armed Forces   including Para  Military Personnel. On qualifying  the Aptitude Test  the  admission will be as  per the order  given below.

     
  1. Widows/Wards  of Defence/Paramilitary personnel killed       in  action;

 

     
  1. Wards of  serving personnel and ex-servicemen/        Paramilitary  personnel disabled in action;

 

     
  1. Widows/Wards  of Defence/Paramilitary personnel who died        in peace  time with death attributable to military service;

 

     
  1. Wards of  Defence personnel/ Paramilitary personnel        disabled in  peace time with disability attributable to the  military       service; and
     
  1. Wards of Ex-servicemen personnel and serving  personnel/       Paramilitary personnel/   police personnel who are in receipt of        Gallantry Awards; 1) Param Vir Chakra 2)  Ashok Chakra.

PHYSICALLY  CHALLENGED -BFA 


    3% of the seats Specialization-wise are reserved for Physically   Challenged  candidates who meet the minimum eligibility requirement  set  for  General  Category candidates and subject to their  qualifying the   Aptitude Test. 

    A  Medical Certificate issued by Govt. Hospital  notified  by  the  National Commission for disabled person should be   attached  along with  Application Form. The Medical Certificate  should have   been issued three or less  than three years before  the admission date.
      
    PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED-MFA 


    3% of the total number of seats (i.e. 2 seats only) will be   reserved  for  Physically Challenged  candidates who meet the  minimum eligibility   requirement  set for General Category  candidates and subject to  their  qualifying the  Assessment.  Their merit list will be prepared  and declared  separately 

    A Medical Certificate issued by Govt. Hospital notified by   the   National Commission for disabled person should be attached along    with  Application Form. The Medical Certificate should have been   issued  three or less  than three years before the admission date.
    Note:  1) As per the decision of the Admission &  Courses   Committee of the College  constituted by the  University of  Delhi.  (i) the seats  will be filled by rotation  from amongst   Specializations of Applied Art,  Painting,  Printmaking, Sculpture,  and  Visual communication. Accordingly,  the  seats for the session  2015-16 will  be filled in the  Specializations of Visual Communication and  Applied Art (ii) If no   Physically Challenged candidates apply in  the  above mentioned   Specializations, the seats will be filled from  the General  Category  in  the same Specializations

The  intake capacity will be 10  (Ten)  in  each of the Specializations, of which at  least a minimum   of 6 seats in  each Course will be reserved for Delhi   candidates,  while 4 seats may be  filled from among the candidates  of the other   Indian States/Foreign  Countries, subject to  their application. 
     (As per order of the Hon’ble   High  Court, Delhi,  the  following may be taken NOTE  of:

     
  1. The six seats to be reserved for Delhi candidates in each Course  is the minimum and not  themaximum.

 

     
  1. There is no reservation in favour of students of other Indian  States/foreign countries).

DIPLOMA  COURSES 


    In order to provide education in Fine Art to Deaf and Dumb students,  the   University of Delhi  under the relevant Ordinance has  instituted in  the  College of Art  a Diploma Course in Fine Art  since 1980.   These  students will study the  practical  subjects prescribed for the  B.F.A.  Course but are exempted from  the  study of Theory  subjects. 


   ELIGIBILITY  FOR  DIPLOMA 


    The students who have passed the Secondary  School  Certificate  (Class-X)  conducted by the C.B.S.E.

New   Delhi  or an examination  equivalent will be eligible for  admission  to this Course  subject to their  passing the  Aptitude Test only in  practical subjects. The  admission to   this Course is given for five  seats only, one in each of the five  disciplines i.e. Applied Art, Painting,  Print Making, Sculpture,  and  Visual  Communication as per the  modality of admission of  University of  Delhi-ANNEXURE. 


  POST-GRADUATE  DIPLOMA COURSES 


    In order to provide education in  Fine Art to the Deaf and Dumb  students,  the University of Delhi   under the relevant  Ordinance has also instituted  in the College of  Art,  a  Postgraduate Diploma Course in Fine Art from  1994. The  admission to  this  Course is given for five seats only, one in  each  of the  five Specializations of  Applied Art, Painting, Printmaking,    Sculpture and Visual Communication. These  students will study  the   Practical subjects prescribed for the MFA Courses but  are  exempted  from  the study of Theory subjects. 


   ELIGIBILITY  IN  POST-GRADUATE DIPLOMA 


    A candidate seeking admission to the  Course must have passed the  Diploma  in  Fine Art of the four year  duration conducted by  the University of  Delhi  or an examination  recognized as  equivalent, and will be considered  eligible for   admission on  their qualifying the Assessment as applicable  to the  general   candidates for admission to MFA Course. The procedure of   admissions  is as  mentioned in the enclosed Modalities of University  of   Delhi, Annexure.
