EVENTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS OF  STUDENTS AND FACULTY
DURING ACADEMIC YEAR 2010-2011

    • Induction Day  Newly admitted students of BFA & MFA were welcomed to the College to attend the ‘Induction Ceremony’ along with their parents to meet the Faculty, Staff and students on 25th July, 2010. Dr. S.K. Vij, Dean, Students Welfare, University of Delhi, was the Chief Guest.
    • Samhita   The Annual National Level Seminar cum Workshop was hosted by the College from 25th to 30th October, 2010.  68 senior Fine Art students from 13 premier Art Colleges in the country were invited to participate, interact and work in the various mediums along with faculty and students of the College. The event was inaugurated by Shri Anand Prakash, IAS, Principal Secretary, Deptt. of Training & Technical Education, Govt. of NCT of Delhi, in the College premises. 
    • The ‘Graduate Show’   Padmashri Shri Manu Parekh, Eminent Artist, inaugurated the event on 30th November, 2010, which continued upto the 3rd December, 2010. The groupshow carried the works of the batches of BFA and MFA who received their Degrees in the Convocation Ceremony on Friday, 3rd December, 2010.
    • The Convocation Ceremony   for the student batches of BFA & MFA (of academic session 2009) was held on 3rd December, 2010 in the College premises. Smt Sheila Dikshit, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Govt of NCT of Delhi, was the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries included Shri Anand Prakash IAS, Principal Secretary, DTTE, Padmashri Shri Raghu Rai, Eminent Photographer who delivered the Convocation Address, Padmashri Shri Manu Parekh, Eminent Artist, Dr.S. K. Vij, Dean Students Welfare, and Prof. (Mrs.) Anupam Mahajan, Dean, Faculty of Music & Fine Arts, University of Delhi. 89 BFA students and 30 MFA students received their respective Degrees in the ceremony.
    • Annual Study Tours   College organized the Annual Education Study Tours in two groups for the III Year Specialization Classes of the three disciplines.
    • Group-I (Painting & Sculpture) from 11th to 31st January, 2011, of a group of 46 students, was led by  Sh. Ashok N. Ninawe, Associate Professor and accompanied by Shri Pardeep Kumar Chauhan, Jr. Artist,  Shri Manoj Kumar, Jr. Artist, Smt. Archana Sharma, Studio Assistant. Shri Mahender Singh and Shri Gopi were the Attendants.
    • Group-II (Applied Art) from 10th to 26th January, 2011, of a group of 73 students, was led by Sh. Raj Kumar H. Mahajan, Associate Professor, and accompained by Shri Savi H. Savarkar, Asstt. Professor, Sh. Mazhar Ellahi & Ms. Sugandha Gaur, Lecturers (Contract), Prayag Sharma, Dark Room Asstt. and Sh Kishen Singh, Attendant. The itinerary included visits to sites of historical and artistic importance and man-made wonders in the States of Madhya Pardesh, Uttar Pardesh, Sikkim, West Bengal. Orissa, Maharashtra, Andhra Prakesh, Karnataka respectively.
    • Annual Sports Meet   The College organized the Annual Sports Meet at the Karnail Singh Stadium, New Delhi on 25 February, 2011.
    •     MFA and BFA Applied Art, students paticipated in the Photographic Workshop organized by the International Photographic Association in the premises.
    • BFA  Applied Art, Third Year, Section A, designed Posters for Smile Foundation, on Girl Child Education.
    • BFA Applied Art, Third Year, Section B, designed Logos for Ramanujan College (New Name of Deshbandhu Evening College), University of Delhi.
    • BFA Painting, Art Projects in Cooperation with the German Embassy, New Delhi, included the designing and execution of a Buddy Bear by Anni Kumari, Fourth year.
    • Print Making Department participated in a Workshop form 7 June – 15 July 2010, organized for MFA, Final Year students, at Lalit Kala Graphics Studio, Garhi, New Delhi, to work and interact with Senior Artists, and, participated in a Workshop from 1 October-12 Octobert 2010, organized for MFA, Final Year students at Visva Bharti Kala Bhawan, Shantiniketan, to work and interact with faculty members and students of the Kala Bhawan, under the guidence of Prof. Ajeet Seal.
    • Manya Goel, Ashu Kumari, Aditya, Abhilasha and Pratibha Gautam, BFA  Art History, participated in the International Workshop on Indigeneous Art, at National Museum, New Delhi, and attended the IGNCA Seminar.
    • Pallavi Singh, MFA Final Year Painting, Camlin Art Foundation Award, 10th Nothern region, Student’s Category, 2011. Participated in Painting workshop organized by AIFACS, Amritsar, 2010.
    • Tahsin Akhtar, MFA Final Year Painting,  participated in Art Camp organized by Govt. College of Arts, Trichur, Kerala-2011. Works exhibited at Lalit Kala Academy, Chandigarh-2011.
    • Mohd. Naseem, MFA Final Year Painting,  participated in International Indian Folk  Art Camp organized by Mordern Art Gallery, New Delhi-2010. Participated in Art Camp organized by Govt. College of Arts, Jaipur, 2011. Work selected in Camlin Art Foundation Painting Exhibition 2010.
    • Kingson Swargiary, MFA Final Year Painting, Solo Exhibition at club DLF, Golf Links, Gurgaon,-2011.
    • Bharti Verma, MFA Previous Year, Painting, Scholarship by ‘Kala Sakshi’.  Participated ‘Kala Sakshi Memorial’ Trust Artist Camp 2010, Sanskriti Kendra, New Delhi, 3 days camp in Lalit Hotel Barakhamba Road (Nai Umeed), Participation and selection of painting in Dhomimal Art Gallery and Group Show in Dhomimal Art Gallery.
    • Dharminder, BFA Third Year, Painting,  had his picture selected for the magazine – Asian Photography 2011 and won IInd Prize for it.
    • Maumita, BFA Fourth Year, Painting, Banmali Bohara, BFA, Third Year, Paintingand Mahesh Kumar, BFA, Second Year, Painting, were student departmental representatives at Samhita 2010.
    • Neha Narayan, Ankita Sharma, Akshay Sethi and  Aditya Chauhan, BFA, Second Year, Painting, did work on the theme of ‘India Enterprise 2020: Get Future Ready’ exhibited and acclaimed during the Microsoft Leadership Conclave 2011, New Delhi.
    • Divanshu, a speech and hearing impaired student of Foundation, Print Making, awarded Taare  Zameen Par” achiever, second prize.
    • Abhineet kumar, MFA, Final Year, Print Making, awarded HRD, National Scholarship, Government of India, Ministry of Culture, 2009-10, and awarded, Late Gopal Krishna Memorial Trust Fund for Graphics, Bombay Art Society, 2010, and participated in Third National Students Visual Art Workshop, Government of Karnataka (Chamarajendra Academy) from 13-20 September, 2010.
    • Shashi Kant, MFA Final year, Sculpture, participated in National Art Student’s Camp, Govt. College of Art Thrissur, Kerala.
    • Mukesh Kumar Singh, MFA Previous year, Sculpture received cash award of Rs 10000/-in 83rd Annual All India Art Exhibition 2010, organized by AIFACS, New Delhi, and has also been awarded the ‘Krishnakriti’ scholarship from Lahoti Foundation, Hyderabad.
    • Kamble R. Viswanath, MFA Previous year and Umesh  Kumar MFA Final year, Sculpture, work was selected in 83rd Annual All India Art Exhibition 2010, organized by AIFACS, New Delhi .
    • Rajesh Ram, MFA Final year, Sculpture, and Mukesh Kumar, MFA Previous year, Sculpture, were invited to attend the All India sculptor camp at Govt. College Art and Craft, Patna, organized by Ministry of HRD, Govt. of Bihar 2010.
    • Akash Gaur, MFA Previous Year, Visual Communication, participated in a group show titled ‘Drifters’ at Art Konsult, New Delhi, 2010 and also in a group show titled ‘Let’s Talk’ at Exhibit 360, New Delhi, 2010. Also worked with famous film Director, Anurag Kashyap’ in special effect with Prosthetics, Varanasi 2010 and worked for Sadhu Vaswani Museum, Pune.
    • Anushree Aiyer, Babita Khair and Himani Saini, MFA Previous Year, Visual Communication, attended the ‘Photography Workshop’ with professional photographers from Singapore, New Delhi, 2010.
    • Harshit Vishwakarma, BFA Second Year, Visual Communication, photograph got selected and displayed at ‘Gullak’ a exhibition held at Social Sciences Auditorium, JNU, 2010 and also got displayed at Dilli Haat, INA, 2010.
    • Kandagiri Ramesh, Asstt. Prof. BFA Painting, conceived, curated and participated in a group exhibition of  artists under the title ‘Constellation’ (Rebirth of Cosmic Media and Elemental Novelty) at Rabindra Bhawan, Lalit Kala Akademi from 5–11 March, 2010. Written a catalogue for the same.       
    • Dr. Ruchika W Singh, Lecturer (Contract), Painting, participated in ‘My Story’, NIV  Art Centre, New Delhi(2010); ‘arts i Redux’, Religare Arts, New Delhi, 2010; 2nd Biennale Internazionale D’Arte Contemporanea Sabbioneta: Paralleli, Palazzo Ducale, Sabbioneta, Italy, 2010 and Nine Artists, Women Artists Colloqium Exhibition, Red Dot Gallery, Theertha International Artists Collective, Sri Lanka, 2011.
    • Pradeep Kumar, Junior Artist, Sculpture Department, Participated in Group Show organized by Indian Art Circle, Gallery, October, 2010, Punjab Kala Bhawan, Chandigarh, 2011, Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi, 2011, Kolkatta, West Bengal, 2011, and also participated in All India Sculptor’s Camp organized by AIFACS, New Delhi, 2011.
