The Director, Senior Scientific Officer and Scientists are responsible for implementation of plan schemes pertaining to Environment Department. Proposals after being examined at the level of Senior Scientific Officer and Scientists are submitted for the perusal of  Principal Secretary/Secretary (Environment) through Additional Secretary(Environment) and Director (Environment). Principal Secretary/Secretary (Environment), being the Head of Department, is the final authority in respect of Department of Environment.

Administrative and accounts related work of Environment Department is being done by Deputy Secretary(Environment), DDO/Assistant Account Officer and the Superintendent with the help of ministerial staff. Deputy Secretary (Environment), being Head of Office, has over all supervision in administrative and accounts related matter.
