THE POWERS AND DUTIES OF OFFICERS AND EMPOLIESS
 

Principal Secretary (Environment)/Secretary (Environment) is the over all head of Environment Department. Additional  Secretary (Environment) is working under the Pr. Secretary (Environment) and supervising all  matter of the Department. Director (Environment) is supervising all technical matters of the Environment Department and he is assisted by Senior Scientific Officer, Scientists and trainees.

        

The Director,  Senior Scientific Officers and Scientists are responsible for implementation of plan schemes pertaining to Environment Department Govt. of NCT of Delhi. For the better performance of each plan schemes Director, Senior Scientific Officers and Scientists are keeping a control watch and visiting various institutions, NGO’s, Eco-club schools etc, which have been assisted financially by this department for creating environmental awareness. Deputy Secretary (Environment) has been declared as Head of Office and is supervising all administrative and accounts related matters of the Department and he is being assisted by DDO/AAO, Superintendent and other ministerial staff. Deputy Secretary (Environment) also acts as Competent Authority under Delhi Right to Information Act 2001 and the Public Information Officer under the Right to Information Act-2005. Secretary (Environment) is the first Appellate Authority under the Right to Information Act-2005.
