Q1.
How do I become a member of Eco-Club?

You need to be a school/college within Delhi NCT to avail this scheme. You need to fill up the Eco-Club Grant form and send it to us to get registered. For the next year you need to again fill the grants form along with the utilisation certificates and send them to us.

Q2.
What are the forms required to be filled for member of Eco-Club?

For schools there are 3 forms:
1 Eco-Club Grants Form, 2 Utilisation Certificates-Rs.20,000 & Rs. 2,500

For colleges there are 2 forms:
1 Eco-Club Grants Form, 1 Utilisation Certificates-Rs.20,000

How do I submit the form for Eco-club member?

Q4. Is there any time period within which I have to apply for the Eco-Club grant?

No. But it would be preferred if it is done so during the beginning of every financial year(May-June-July).

Q5. How to utilize the fund received for Eco-Club?
  The fund allocated to your school/college is meant for educating, spreading awareness and for the preservation for the environment. The funds are to be spent in achieving this goal.
Q6. What are the places available for a field trip by Schools/Colleges?

The following places can be visited under the Eco-Club scheme for educational purposes

Q7. How do I submit the Utilisation Report for Eo-Club grant? Is there a format?

The utilisation report which is submitted before/ at the end of every financial year by each school/college, has no specific format, you can be as creative as you like. However photographs added in the report would be beneficial.

Q8. Is it necessary to attach a cancelled cheque along with the Eco-club grants form?
  Yes. Attaching a cancelled cheque would enable us to have the correct information about your account and hence help us to ECS the fund easily to you, without any delay.
Q9. Where do I get the plant saplings?
  Saplings are available free of cost from the following 14 Nurseries of the Department

Q10. What are the various types of wastes?

Municipal Solid Waste, Bio-Medical Waste, Hazardous Waste, E-Waste, Plastic Waste, Mercury Waste, Construction and Demolition Waste etc. (click here for more detail)

Q11. What is E-waste and how to dispose-off?

According to E-waste (Management & Handling) Rules, 2011, E-waste means waste electrical and electronic equipment, whole or in part or rejects from their manufacturing and repair process, which are intended to be discarded.

E-waste should be disposed off through collection centers and recyclers authorized with Central / State Pollution Control Board. (Lists of e-waste Collection Centres &Authorized Recyclers)

Q12. What is a plastic carry bag?
  According to Delhi Government’s Notification dated 23.10.2012, regarding ban on plastic carry bags, the term “Carry Bag” means bag made from any plastic material, used for the purpose of carrying or dispensing commodities but do not include bags that constitute or form an integral part of the packaging in which goods are sealed prior to use.
Q13. What is Vermicomposting?
 
According to Municipal Solid Waste (Management & Handling) Rules, 2000, "Vermicomposting" is a process of using earthworms for conversion of bio-degradable wastes into compost.
Q14. What is Fly Ash?
 
According to Fly Ash Notification dated 03.11.2009 issued by MoEF, GOI, the term “Fly Ash” means and includes all categories or groups of coal or lignite ash generated at the thermal power plant and collected by Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) or bag filters or other similar suitable equipments; bottom ash is the ash collected separately at the bottom of the boiler; pond ash is the mixture of ESP Fly Ash and bottom ash, but for the purpose of this Notification, the term Fly Ash means and includes all ash generated such as ESP ash, dry fly ash, bottom ash, pond ash and mound ash as the objective is to utilize all the ashes.
Q15. What is Construction & Demolition waste?
 
According to Municipal Solid Waste (Management & Handling) Rules, 2000, "demolition and construction waste" means wastes from building materials debris and rubble resulting from construction, re-modelling, repair and demolition operation.
Q16. Who can apply for grant-in-aid under the plan scheme of this Department?
  NGOs including RWAs, Voluntary organizations, Self-Help Groups engaged in the conservation, preservation of environment and pollution control activities.
Q17. Is the financial assistance under this plan scheme applicable for projects conducted outside Delhi?
  The financial assistance under the said plan scheme is only for the projects/proposals, which are conducted w.r.t. the issues/area related to National Capital Territory of Delhi.
Q18. How can an NGO apply for grant-in-aid under the said plan scheme?
  An NGO can apply for grant-in-aid under the said plan scheme by submitting their proposal in the format available on http://www.delhi.gov.in/wps/wcm/connect/Environment/environment/plan+schemes/assistance+to+ngos/format+for+submission+of+proposal
Q19. What documents have to be submitted by the NGO in order to get financial assistance?
