"Water recycling and reuse" is defined as the planned and deliberate use of treated wastewater for some beneficial purpose, such as industrial process, cooling, recreation, horticulture, flushing in building and commercial centre etc.

All major hotels, hospitals, construction projects have been directed to set up STP/ETP for treatment of their wastewater and its effective usages. As a result, 150 such projects have either installed or are in the process of installing such systems reducing a substantial load on the DJB network. Many hospitals are also setting up and recycling the wastewater for horticulture purposes.
