Solar water heating system is a device in which water is heated by the use of solar energy. Solar heating systems are generally composed of solar thermal collectors, a fluid system to move the heat from the collector to its point of usage.Following steps are taken for installation of Solar Water Heating System:
 
 
Delhi Govt. has made the use of solar water heating system mandatory in the buildings like Industries, Hospitals, Nursing homes, Hotels, Canteen, Residential buildings having an area of 500 sq.m, educational colleges, hostels, technical or vocational colleges etc.
   
Govt. of Delhi is providing rebate/ incentive of Rs. 6000/- to 60000/- depending upon the capacity to domestic electricity consumers for installation of solar water heater.
   
35 solar water heater installed in schools & colleges of Delhi so far and 50 more being installed this year.
   
Cost of solar water heater is about Rs.1.2 to 1.4 lakh.
   
Nearly 1.5 lakh litres per day capacity has been installed in 2007-08.
   
45 solar water heaters installed in schools & colleges (List of Installed Solar Heating System)
   
More than 100 Malls and various construction projects, restaurants, hospitals and hotels directed to instal solar water heating systems urgently and about 50 have already installed.
 
 
 
Soft loan @ 2% to domestic users
   
Soft loan @ 3% to institutional users
   
Soft loan @ 5% to industrial/commercial users
   
Loan provided by IRIDA and other public /private sector banks.
   
Soft loan to be repaid within 5 years
   
 
 
Housing complex : Rs. 1900 per sq. m of collector area
   
Institutional buildings : Rs. 1750 per sq. m of collector area
   
Commercial buildings: Rs. 1400 per sq. m of collector area
