A Compact Fluorescent Lamp (CFL) uses less power and has a higher rated life as compare to incandescent lamp.
   
3 million Delhi households need to convert incandescent into CFL immediately to save nearly 1200 MW of power, since each CFL is 50% more efficient and lasts for 3 years as against 6 months for bulb.
   
Use of Compact Fluorescent Lamps and Electronic Chokes made mandatory in new buildings
   
More than 1 millon CFLs have been sold so far
