ABOUT US  

Kasturba Polytechnic for Women, under the Department of Training and Technical Education, is the second Government Polytechnic established exclusively for women in the National Capital Territory of Delhi. It was established in the year 1986 to encourage women to effectively contribute towards economic development.  It was initially set up as a guest institute in the Meerabai Polytechnic Campus at Maharani Bagh.  The Polytechnic shifted to its own spacious double storeyed building at Pitampura in 1997. 

The Polytechnic building is housed in a plot area of 37,067.95 square meter of land consisting of a spacious Academic Complex, Hostel Block, Residential Complex, play ground and parking area. The green belt around the institution provides a shield against noise and air pollution. Kasturba Polytechnic offers full-time diploma courses in hi-tech and emerging areas of technology.

 The National Institute of Technical Teacher’s Training & Research (NITTTR) Chandigarh adjudged this Polytechnic as one of the outstanding Polytechnics in the Northern Region of the country and presented it the Best Polytechnic Award for the year 2006-2007.  It was declared the best Polytechnic in 2004 by ISTE at National Convention of Students at Anand, Gujarat and was awarded the best polytechnic award in northern India in 2003 by TTTI, Chandigarh.

Quality Management System ISO 9001:2008

Kasturba Polytechnic for Women is an ISO 9001:2008 certified institute. The institution received the coveted ISO 9001:2000 certification on 14th July, 2008 from Standardization Testing and Quality Certification (STQC) which is accredited by the internationally recognized “Dutch Council for Accreditation (RvA)”, Netherlands. On 14th January, 2011 the existing ISO system was upgraded to the New Quality Standard ISO 9001:2008.
