Objective/purpose of the Institute
To produce globally competent paramedical manpower in different areas of the health care system

Mission
To achieve the mission of “Sarve Santu Niramaya” (Health for All) through Education, Service & Consultation, Entrepreneurship and Research.
Education
- Development of teaching modules for the existing courses and the proposed courses
- Development of competence in the areas of training
- Overall personality development of students promoting eagerness for learning, compassion and professional ethics
- Documentation of all academic and administrative activities the Institute
- Providing opportunities for e- learning through digital library, EDUSAT linkage etc
- Development of accredited laboratories
- Acquiring leadership in the national level education
Service and Consultation
- Identification of emergent areas having urgent need for qualified and competent manpower
- Introduction of new programmes
- Strengthening the linkages with hospitals and Industries to improve competence of the trainees through orientation programmes, Internship training, expert lectures, seminars, product demonstration etc
- Promotion of health and prevention of diseases amongst the community by organizing “open house” twice a year for testing facilities with minimum fees and also the lectures on public health by experts
Entrepreneurship
- Resource generation through the services rendered by the accredited laboratories of the Institute
- Conducting short term programmes
- Coordination with ICMR, WHO, ISTE, AICTE and other agencies to have sponsored programmes, workshops, seminars etc
- Serving as the resource centre other Institutes for facilities created.
Research
- Collaborative research on disease surveillance, community health etc
Brief history of the Institute and context of its formation.
The Government of Delhi established the Institute at Dwarka subcity of Delhi in 2008. In view of its location across the proposed Delhi Government Hospital, the Department of Training & Technical Education identified the Institute for running courses in health care related areas.

Physical Infrastructure
The Department of Technical Education has created all the facilities to make this Institute a premier Institute.
· Campus of an area of 11 acres with the residential (6 Type IV and 6 Type 1 )Quarters and hostel facilities.
· Completely barrier free Institute building and the Hostel building with elevators and ramps in each building
· Four storied Institute building with six wings and a central amphitheater
· Three storied Hostel building with two wings with 48 rooms having an accommodating capacity of 144 students
· Ultra modern campus with provision of Rain water harvesting, earthquake resistance, fire hydrant
· Water supply tanks and Fire hydrant
· Appropriately designed furniture and laboratory interior by the PWD.
· Two 500 KVA electrical sub stations and 320 KVA generator back up
