INTRODUCTION

The Guru  Nanak  Dev Institute of Technology started in 1995 at Pusa Polytechnic Campus. It shifted in its new campus at Sector-15, Rohini in 1997 and was inaugurated by then Chief Minister.

The institution has been named after the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev.

The institution runs in two shifts namely morning and evening.

The Morning shift beings at 7.30 a.m. and continues till 3.30 p.m.

The evening shift runs from 11.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.

At present, there are six branches in the morning shift with 75 students in each branch

and five in the evening shift with 75 students in one branch

and 55 students each in the remaining four branches.

There are around 2000 students and 106 sta

Electronics & Communication(Morning and Evening)

Today, electronics the world over has made limit less growth in terms of new ideas

and techniques.

Electronics and Communications systems have made an electronic engineer

a role model for the change of the modern society. The academics and industries should work

together to meet the challenges. ECE industries are in need of highly skilled manpower.

This manpower can be available only with flexible, adaptive and progressive training programs

run by Board of Technical Education, under the aegis of Directorate of Training and Technical

Education, Delhi. From 1996 the Department of Electronic and Communication Engg. at GND

polytechnic has been consistently working towards this goal.
The three year Diploma program in ECE contains a proper blend of basic concepts and

advances in technology. The faculty has succeeded in keeping a lively atmosphere among the

students, with timely up gradations in the curriculum. The interactions of faculty and students

in institute have proved to be highly successful in our case.
The department also maintains a close link with industry through Training and Placement cell

of GND polytechnic. The interaction with industry has been mutually beneficial. For the

industries it offers in-time solutions to their technically skilled man power problems. On the

other hand it helped the ECE department in proper diversification of the latest activities in

industry and to implement in the academic programs of the department.
The Department of Electronic and Communication Engg. is an integral part of the GND

Polytechnic founded in 1996, successfully producing Diploma holders having hardworking

 caliber, and latest technical knowledge.
At present around 60 students in morning session and 45 students in evening session

graduate from the department every year with more than 500 students having passed out

of the department till now, who are all pursuing successful ventures / careers in their life.

Mechanical Engineering(Morning and Evening)

NT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

Mechanical engineering branch is the basic branch of engineering. Which is the most

important branch, as it is being used mostly in all the fields. The mechanical engineering

covers various fields of daily life. Mechanical engineering deals with the mechanics of

different mechanism of machine, production of jobs etc.
Further Automobile engineering, power plant engineering, Refrigeration and Air conditioning

are some of the basic fields which are based on the concept of Mechanical engineering

subject known as thermal engineering.
Production engineering is the another branch of mechanical engineering which deals with

the different manufacturing process such as welding, forging, sheet metal, machining, milling,

CNC machining and CAD/CAM. In short the Mechanical engineering branch is the foundation

of engineering and is one of the oldest branch of engineering with lot of job opportunities in

various field.
Mechanical industries are in need of highly skilled manpower. The academics and industries

should work together to meet the challenges. Board of Technical Education runs flexible,

adaptive and progressive training programs under the aegis of Directorate of Training and

Polymer Technology(Morning and Evening)

Intake  of students :  60 (Morning Shift)         60 (Evening Shift)

Polymers have become an essential and ubiquitous part of our lives. No other class of materials

can rival its range of properties, flexibility in processing, and potential for low cost production.

Quality of performance is an essential and challenging feature that has been demonstrated by

polymeric materials in an impressive array of applications. The widespread use of polymers is

a gratifying confirmation of the success of the polymer technology and engineering community,

but it carries with it the need to continually focus on maintaining the research and development

effort.
The department has developed modern research facility and infrastructure to support the

teaching and training activities. The department has well established laboratories on Polymer

Chemistry, Polymer Synthesis, Polymer Testing and Quality Control, Polymer Characterization,

Polymer Processing etc. The department has well developed Processing Technology Laboratory

and has of latest processing machineries Like Automatic Injection Moulding machine, Hand

Injection moulding machine, Blow moulding machine, Compression moulding machine,

Automatic product grinding, and recycling machine. Department also has modern quality

control and testing facility like UTM machine, Melt Flow Tester, Impact Tester, Specific Gravity

Tester, ESCR Testing machine, Carbon Black Testing equipment and also has good Polymer

Synthesis and Characterization facility.
The students of this department carry out their minor/major projects in these laboratories

jointly with expert from industry and faculty of the department. The main topics covered in the

area of Polymer Processing, Biopolymers, Composites, Polymer Blends and alloys, Plastic

Waste Management, Polymer Recycling, Mold Design and Fabrication and Nano materials etc.
