Introduction

In accordance with decision taken by the Govt. of India, Ministry of Urban Development in consultation with Delhi Development Authority and Govt. of Delhi in March, 1993 Delhi Development Authority transferred Inter State Bus Terminus Kashmere Gate now known as Maharana Pratap Inter State Bus Terminus, Kashmere Gate of Govt. of India in May, 1993. Subsequently two more Inter State Bus Termial Sarai Kale Khan and Swami Vivekanad Inter State Bus Terminus, Anand Vihar became functional with effect from August, 1993 and March, 1996 respectively. Inter State as well as local bus services are being operated from all the three Inter State Bus Terminuses.
Day to day functioning of all the three ISBTs is managed under the control of general Manager who is subordinated by Deputy General Manager, Accounts Officer, Executive Engineer and other staff including the Engineering financial and administrative. Besides one estate manager is posted for each ISBT to lookafter the functioning of his respective ISBT.

Approximate area of the three ISBTs is as under :

Maharana Pratap ISBT at Kashmere Gate, Delhi 53126 sqm
Swami Vivekanand ISBT at Anand Vihar, Delhi 99500 sqm
Vir Hakikat Rai ISBT at Sarai Kale Khan, Delhi 114971 sqm
