The Directorate of Small Savings aims to promote the habit of thrift, to enable the people to cater for the future financial needs in a prudent manner, to offer different schemes of government for savings with the optimum returns and to mobilize resources for the developmental plans of Government.
The Directorate of Small Savings began functioning in the year 1994.
The Directorate of Small Savings & Lotteries provides the following services:
To inform and motivate the people of the National Capital Territory of Delhi to take advantage of Small Savings schemes;
Appointment and Renewal of Standardized Agency System (SAS), Mahila Pradhan Kshetriya Bachat Yojna (MPKBY) and Public Provident Fund (PPF) Agents.
Supervision of the functioning of the Agents.
To redress the complaint and grievances of the public against the Agents within 3 months.
Timely payment to the Agents of incentives.
