National Informatics Centre (NIC), Ministry of Information Technology, the area of Informatics, which is defined as the combination of Information Technology and Telecommunication. The spectrum of services provided by NIC encompasses various dimensions of the Information Technology Arena such as Consultancy, Software Development, Data Communication, Multimedia, Internet Service, E-Commerce, Networking, Office Automation etc. NIC’s network known as NICNET presently connects all the district to State capitals to Center through satellite ARAB-SAT. AT District level, NIC District Units provide effective informatics support to the Central Govt., State Govt. and district administration at the district.

NIC District Centre South West Delhi :- Due to lack of space in DC Office, NIC District Centre shared with Administration staff in small single room. As an acknowledgement gesture for the services rendered by NIC District Centre, the District Administration provided a well furnished separate computer room in DC Office Building on 30/4/2000. It was very difficult to make the District Administration people aware of the utility of Computer. So after sustained effort bore the first, NIC District Centre became functional.


Support Services by NIC at District Centre :- The District Centre has successfully undertaken milestones projects which have gone a long way in helping it to establish a firm footing. The Projects developed and implemented during this year at NIC South West District Centre, Kapashera, New Delhi.
