The Bombay Prevention of begging act, 1959 has been exteded to the NCT of Delhi in the year 1960. The Delhi government has framed the Delhi prevention of begging rules, 1960.
The Department has set up 11 certified institutions including the Reception Cum Classification Centre under the Bombay prevention of begging act, 1959 with the sanctioned capacity of 2,180 inmates
