I. Introduction

 

 

This hospital is a Secondary Level 100 Bedded General Hospital for common people . The patients who need  super specialty care are referred to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital or other super specialty hospital as the case may be.

There are seven central registration counters for routine OPD and one counter for staff, Senior Citizen & disabled patient. However, there is another counter which function round the clock  in Casualty Block for registration of Admissions of Indoor Patients, which also serves as reception cum enquiry. Directions, signs /indicators at strategic points are available for the convenience of patients in all the corridors.

Paeds. Emergency is functional in Ward. No. 2 in Indoor block & Gyanae Emergency functions from Labour Room 24 hour

Note : In serious cases, treatment/management gets priority over paper work like registration and medico legal requirements. The decision rests with the treating doctor. The patients who needs super specialty level care are referred to other tertiary level Delhi Govt. Hospitals/Higher Center for further treatment

F. Operation Theater Facility

 

 

There is One Main Operation theaters with Two O.T. Tables , One Emergency Operation theater in causalty Block and One Labour Room & Gynaec Operation theater adjacent to Main O.T.

There are 02 No.s of Minor O.Ts. one in Causality Block and another in OPD Block.

The Operation Theatres are well equipped with modern equipments such as Image Intensifier with C-arm ,  Laparoscope  & Hysteroscopy etc. Minimal access  Surgery procedures by Laparoscope & Hysteroscopy are performed by Dept. of Surgery, Obst & Gynecology respectively.The deptt of surgery performing basic & advanced laproscopic procedure.

 

 

G. Drug Distribution

 

 

Medicines prescribed by the doctors are available as per Delhi Govt. Drug formulary on Pharmacy Counters free of cost. Medicines are usually given for three days for OPD Patients but in special clinics as per recommendations of Specialists.

H. Medico-Legal Facilities

 

 

Medico Legal and Post Mortem Services are held for 11 Police Station.

 

 

I. Facilities For Senior Citizen

 

 

A senior citizens clinic is functioning on all Sundays in the OPD Block between 10.00 A.M.- 12.00 Noon. Separate counters for registration and medicine distribution is also running daily

L. Right To Information Act

 

 

The hospital has implementing provision of both the Delhi Right to Information Act-2001 and Central Right to Information Act-2005.Mr.S.H.Idrishi (PIO) & Mr.Omprakash (APIO) have been designated as Nodal Officers.

 

 

M. Medical Record Department

 

 

The Medical Record Department is maintaining the record of indoor patients and the Medico Legal Cases attended by the hospital and also functioning as a large data bank for medical statistics

 

 

N. Bio Medical Waste (Management & Handling)

 

 

The hospital is implementing bio-medical waste management plan in this hospital. as per the Guidelines of the DPCC thus the hospital has procured and installed double chamber Incinerator, Auto clave and Shredder. This hospital is the only hospital in Delhi which has been declared as Regional Training Centre to award six months certificate course in Bio Waste Management by the IGNOU.

 

 

O. T.B. Diagnostic And Treatment Centre (Dot’s Centre)/T.B. Chest Clinic

 

 

T.B. Diagnostic and Treatment Center (DOT’s Center) has been started in this hospital w.e.f. 01.11.1998. Daily sputum test and drug distribution is being done

 

 

P. Fnac And Pap Smear

 

 

Institute of Cytology and Preventive Oncology, I.C.M.R. is providing these facilities once a week. This hospital is a nodal point for Cancer detection in East Delhi

 

 

Q. Family Welfare Programme

 

 

The family welfare services are being provided by the doctors and other staff as per Guidelines laid down under RCH Program . This Hospital is approved as a M.T.P. and Operating Unit for Tubectomy Centre by the Dte. of Family Welfare. All patients motivated for Ligation and those referred from nearby dispensaries are operated on Daily . M.T.P. with Cu T has been started in this hospital since August , 1997 and are being done Laparoscopic ligation has been started in this hospital since 10.11.1999 and 415 Laparoscopic ligation (Sterilization) have been done during the year 2004-05.

 

 

R. Training Centre For Rch.

 

 

This hospital is a recognized RCH Training Center by Dte. of Family Welfare , Govt. of Delhi and is conducting hands on training regularly w.e.f. 01.03.2001 for Medical Officers, LHVs.and ANMs, for implementation of RCH Program. Till date, the centre has already conducted 16 such Training Programs (6 for Medical Officers, 6 for ANMs and 4 for LHVs.) These Training Programs are helping in strengthening the grass root level workers in the periphery and establishment of referral linkage.

 

 

S. Blindness Control Programs

 

 

The hospital has been designated as Base hospital for East District Blind Control Society ( E.D.B.S.) under the Vice-Chairmanship of Medical Superintendent , L.B.S. Hospital for East District of Delhi, the hospital has been upgraded as District Hospital. The activities of the E.D.B.S. are as follows :-

 

 

1) To organize screening camps and to detect the Cataract Patients with the help of N.G.O.s and Government hospital and thereafter Cataract operations are performed totally free of cost. 1973 patients were operated in various Government Hospitals and NGO’s East Delhi.

 

 

2)School Eye Screening. Under this program students of Govt. Schools are Screened and those students who are detected to have Refractive Errors students are distributed Free Spectacles by East Delhi Blind Control Society.

In case of any natural calamities or national emergencies a proper Disaster Management Plan is being enforced in the Hospital.

Ans : The Hospital provides services to general public.

Q.No.2.Are there any user charges for the services & the medicines provided to the patients.

Ans : All the Services including the medicine provided free of cost to the patients except Ultrasound .For ultrasound Rs 50/- charged from outdoor patients only.


Q.No.3 Is there any Grievance redressal mechanism?

Ans : It has been decided that the visitors who wish to meet the Med Supdt. may give their grievances between 12P.M. to 1 P.M. in the office. The M.S. alongwith the concerned officers would meet people from 12P.M. to 1 P.M. and attend to their grievances. The grievances would as far as possible be redressed across the table & feedback provided to the complainant.

Q.No.4 Are there any special facilities for senior citizens?

Ans : For Senior citizens there is a separate queue at all counters. Also on Sunday, 10 A.M. to 12 P.M. all services of the hospital are available to senior citizens only
