 II. INTRODUCTION

      Guru Gobind Singh Govt. Hospital is a 100-bedded hospital established in the resettlement colony of Raghubir Nagar, West Delhi under "Special Component plan" of Delhi Govt. With a view to provide secondary level health care to low socio economic group of people of Raghubir Nagar and adjacent areas of an approximate population of 5 lacs.The scheme was approved at an estimated cost of Rs.16.96 crores. Construction of the hospital building began in 1993 in a plot of land measuring approximately 14 acres. On completion of the OPD block, OPD services were commissioned on 30th Dec.1995. The hospital services have since been strengthened and upgraded to the current level in a phased manner.

DRUG DISTRIBUTION

 

         Medicines prescribed by the doctors are available at pharmacy Counters, Room No. 11 free of cost. Medicines are usually given for three days for OPD patients and for longer period to patients who attend special clinics.Senior citizens, Physically handicapped, freedom fighters and beneficiaries of Delhi Government Employees Health Scheme are given priority.

 

INDOOR SERVICES:

Hospital commissioned 100 bedded indoor services w.e.f. Feb 2002.Indoor beds are distributed equally on two floors viz. Ward I and Ward II. Speciality wise distribution of beds is as below:

EMERGENCY SERVICES:

Hospital has round the clock Casualty/Emergency services. Specialists of different units are available on call whenever required.The decision to call the specialists rests on the casualty Medical Officer. Serious patients are referred to nearby hospitals. Two Ambulances and one Mortuary van are available round the clock for transportation of patients/dead bodies

 

LABOUR ROOM SERVICES:

Hospital commissioned Labour room services in Feb.’2002. Since then round the clock delivery services are available in the hospital. On an average 250 to 300 deliveries are conducted per month in the hospital

 

 

 

 

NURSERY:

Hospital commissioned Nursery services in Feb.’2002. Since then round the clock 10 bedded Nursery services are available in the hospital.

 

OPERATION FACILITIES:

A.    Hospital has 4 Major operation theaters; 2 for elective surgeries and 2 for emergency surgeries. Elective surgeries are conducted from 9 A.M. To 4P.M from Monday to Friday. Saturdays are  reserved fro carrying out fumigation activities.

IV.              FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Q.1. Is there any grievance redressal mechanism ?

 

Ans:- Hospital has one officer designated as grievance redressal officer. He can  be contacted in DMS office between 12.00 noon and 1.00 pm  everyday

 

Q.2. Are there any user charges for the services & the medicines provided to the patients?

Ans:- All the services provided to the patients except ultrasound are free. For ultrasound Rs.50/- are charged from outdoor patients.

 

Q.3. Who are the beneficiaries of the hospital?

Ans:- The hospital services are available to general public and well as DGEHS beneficiaries.

 

Q4:    Are there any special facilities for senior citizens?

Ans: For senior citizens there is a separate queue at all counters.Hospital is also having special senior citizen clinic on every Sunday between 9AM to 1pm

in Medicine, Eye, ENT and orthopaedics specialities.

VI.              MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS OF HOSPITAL

 

v     Surveillance CCTVs in different areas of the hospital have been installed.

 

v     Proposal has been initiated for the construction of an additional  150 bedded maternity-cum-Peads block in the  hospital, Consultant has been appointed, drawings have been finalized and PE submitted for approval of competent authority.

 

v     Janani Suraksha Yojasna has been implemented and benefits under the scheme have been given to 1613  patients till  25th Jan 2010.

 

v     Setting up of blood bank and ICU are under progress.

 

v     Hospital information Maintenance system (HIMS)  is being developed for the hospital as a pilot project of Health & Family Welfare Department, GNCTD.  Under the project, all services in the hospital shall be fully computerized  and interlinked on a common platform. 

 

v     Hospital has procured Laparoscope for general surgery and Obs & Gynae departments and the same are being extensively for carrying out abdominal surgeries. Hospital has also started Arthroscopy  procedure in Orthopedic  departments.

 

v     Hospital has acquired Phacoemulsifiers for conducting  contract surgeries.

 

v     Hospital has one state of art Audiometry Room in ENT Department. Audiometry set up is well equipped with the facilities of advanced hearing tests like BERA and Oto-Acoustic emissions.

 

v     ENT Department is also performing diagnostic endoscopies and endoscopic sinus surgery.

 

v     Physiotherapy unit for the hospital is fully equipped with advanced equipments for providing physiotherapy.

 

v     Hospital has one library cum conference room for 30 people and a sate of the art  lecture theatre which can accommodate approximately 100 delegates.

 

v     Hospital has one PCO booth, water coolers with attached water filters and a canteen for the convenience  of patients.

 

 

v     Hospital has installed CFL/Electronic chokes and solar water heating system for energy saving.

 

v     Proposal for installation of effluent treatment plant in under process
