Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial Hospital is a 100 bedded multispeciality District Hospital situated in the E-block, Jahangirpuri, North-West district of Delhi. It is a
general secondary level hospital. Its main objective is to provide, promotive & curative health care services. Standards of services may be influenced by workload &
availability of resources at that particular time. Yet it is intended that all users receive courteous & prompt attention. The hospital campus is spread over 41780.00
Square meters. The hospital has been established with a view to provide primary, secondary and tertiary level of treatment for people of the rural area of North-West
District of Delhi. The hospital has scope for future expansion.

OUT PATIENT DEPARTMENT
Location: OPD services are situated in OPD Block, Ground Floor.
Registration: One should get him/herself registered at main counter from main counter on the first floor OPD block and then to report to respective OPDs as
indicated in OPD Card.
OPD Card is issued free of cost.
Patients are seen on first come first serve basis. However, out of turn consultation may be provided in case of emergency or to senior citizens and beneficiaries.

ACCIDENT & EMERGENCY SERVICES
1.Casualty and Emergency Services are available round the clock.
2.The Department has 10 Observation beds.
3.Casualty Medical Officer along with Sr. Residents [from major specialties i.e. Medicine, Surgery, Orthopedics, O & G & Pediatrics] & Junior Residents are
available round the clock.
4.Specialists are available on call.
5.Well Equipped patient transport Ambulance Service is available round the clock for transport of Patients to Tertiary Care Centers.

These services are available 24 hour a day, throughout the year for anyone with urgent medical problem can seek consultation/treatment in the Casualty after getting
registered at the casualty registration counter, free of charge.
Proper medical cares are provided promptly.
Casualty has dedicated team of Doctors (Casualty Medical Officer, Senior Residents from major specialties i.e. Medicine, Surgery, Orthopedics, O&G & Pediatrics and
Junior Residents), Nurses, Paramedics and Nursing Orderlies etc. to provide urgent medical services. The team endeavor to provide medical care at the earliest possible
time. However, during extreme workload in those cases that are not so urgent may have to wait for some time.
In serious cases treatment/ management gets priority over paper work like registration and medico legal requirement. The decision rests with the treating doctor.
The treating doctors will call any specialist, who is available on call for urgent consultation as and when required. However the patients, who need Super-
Speciality/Tertiary, level care, are referred to other Delhi Govt. Hospitals for further treatment and management.
The casualty is fully equipped with all modern gadgets like monitors, ventilators, nebulizers, defibrillators, O2 Supply and suction Machines etc. and one fully
equipped Minor Operation Theatre for any urgent minor surgery etc.
All medicines and surgical items available in casualty are provided free of cost.
Facilities like Wheel Chairs & patient trolleys are available at the entrance of casualty. Public utilities like toilets, waiting area with fans, chairs etc., are
available.
Waste disposal is done as per the guidelines of Biomedical Waste (Management and Handling Rules, 1998) and utmost care is taken to keep the premises neat and clean.
Ambulance Services are available for transferring serious patients to other hospitals.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTONS:
Q1.Is there any grievance redressal mechanism ?
Ans:It has been decided that visitors who wish to meet the Medical Superintendent may give their grievances between 2.00 p.m. to 2.30 p.m. in the office every
Friday. The M.S. along with the concerned officers would meet people from 2.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. and attend to their grievances. The grievances would as far as
possible be redressed across the table & feedback provided to the complainant.
Grievance Redressal Committee is also functioning in the hospital to look into the complaints submitted by the public. The complaints are disposed off in time bound
manner and suitable recommendations are made for further action by the office.
Complaint-cum suggestion boxes have been provided in the OPD Registration area and casualty Department
Q2.Are there any user charges for the services & the medicines provided to the patients ?
Ans.All the services provided to the patients except ultrasound & color Doppler are free. For ultrasound Rs. 50/- & color Doppler Rs. 100/- are charged from outdoor
patients only.
Q3.Who are the beneficiaries of the hospital ?
Ans.The hospital provides services to general public.
Q4.Are there any special facilities for senior citizens ?
Ans.For senior citizens there is a separate queue at all counters. A separate Sunday Clinic is functioning on Sundays from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm.
