Health and Family Welfare Training Centre (HFWTC) was established in 1968 in Delhi with the objective to sensitize the human resource for Family Welfare. It is a part of Directorate of Family Welfare, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare under Govt. of NCT of Delhi.
It is a state level training institute imparting training to Medical Officers and para-medical personnel of different health agencies of Delhi. Trainings are mainly focused on Rural Child Health (RCH) issues i.e. Maternal Health, Child Health, Contraception, Adolescent Health, Prevention and Management of RTI/STI/HIV etc.
Over the period of time the focus of training programme has shifted from knowledge to skill component. In order to achieve this objective, Training Centre is collaborating with various hospitals to impart skill based training programme to health functionaries.
Every year the Comprehensive Training Plan is formulated before the commencement of the financial year. This year also, with the same objective training Calendar has been prepared which encompasses all issues related to RCH.
It will help to improve Maternal Health, Child Health of the State and thereby decreasing IMR, MMR etc.
