Q.1      What are the eligibility criteria for  applying for Education Loan under this scheme?

Ans     Students should  have done their Class X and XII from Delhi.   For courses for which qualifying exam is Class-X, students should have  done Class X in Delhi. Students should have taken or qualified for  admission in Govt. Institutions  or private  self financed Institutions located in Delhi having A or B grading of NAAC and  NBA  or SFRC grading of A+ or A. and whose  fee is regulated by the Govt.

Q.2      What are the documents required for  obtaining Education Loan under this Scheme?
  Ans                 

  1. Aadhaar  Card 
  2. Pan  Card*
  3. 10th  certificate
  4. 12th  Certificate, in case of qualifying examination 12th and  higher.
  5. Employer’s  Certificate- In case of the application is under Delhi Govt. Employees  category.
  6. Photograph.

* Note:- PAN No is  not mandatory at the time of application/sanction of   education loan however, students shall have  to furnish details of PAN before  release  of second installment
  Q.3      Where  should I apply for Education loan under this scheme?

Q.4      The name of banks who are sanctioning education  loan under this scheme?

Ans     The  list of approved banks are available at the link below

  Q.5      Will a student who is a resident of delhi,  passed either class 10th  or 12th from outside Delhi, be eligible under this scheme?
  Ans     No.  The students should have done his/her Class X and XII from Delhi.

Q.6      Will a student, who has completed 10th & 12th from  Delhi but is a resident citizen of another state be eligible under this scheme?
  Ans     Yes, subject  to fulfillment of other conditions of the scheme.

Q.7      What is the interest rate under this  scheme?
               
  Ans     Maximum  interest rate to be charged by the Bank is Base Rate (BR) plus 2%
  Q.8      Is there any guarantee/margin money required  to be furnished to the bank?

Ans     No  collateral or margin money is required to be paid by the students under this scheme.
  Q9    Whether all  Universities/Institutions/Colleges of Delhi are covered under this scheme ?

Ans     Only those  Universities/Institutions which are located in Delhi and whose fee is regulated  by the Govt. are covered under this scheme. The guarantee will be available for  loans for courses of Government Institutions. It will also be available for private  self financed Institutions located in Delhi having A or B grading of NAAC and NBA  or SFRC grading of A+ or A.

Q.11    Where to submit application form for the education  loan under this scheme?

Ans     Student has to register  himself/herself at the link below:-
    http:// studentloan.delhigovt.nic.in .  Only online applications will be accepted and hard copy of the application filled  online along with uploaded documents is required to be submitted to the concerned  Bank.

Q.12    How much loan amount one can get?
   
  Ans    The maximum  amount of education loan guaranteed under this scheme is  upto Rs. 10 lakhs.
Q13     What will the period of loan ?

Ans     Moratorium  period of Loan is Course period plus one year and Repayment period is 15 years.

Q14     Is there any processing fee to obtain  education loan under this scheme?

Ans     No.

Q.15    Whom  should a person contact  in case of refusal of loan by bank?

Ans     The person can contact Directorate of  Higher Education and may also contact
           Vijaya Bank , which is Nodal  Bank for this scheme, as under.
