Welfare Schemes

The Commission does not directly implement any scheme. However, it monitors the schemes implemented by the other departments for the welfare of the Minority communities.

Some of the Schemes and their brief details are as under:

Govt. of India Schemes

  1. Pre-Matric Scholarship.(Only for Minorities)

Classes Covered: Classes I-X
Amount of Scholarship:
I) I to V- Rs.1000/- per year
II) VI to X Admn./Tution fee-Rs.6000/- per year for hosteller subject to actual amount & Rs. 1000/- for Day Scholar Minimum 50% Marks in the previous exam (except class I).
Income (upto) : Rs. 1 Lakh
Income Certificate issued by: Self Declartion.
How and where to apply: Application forms to be submitted to the respective schools.

  1. Post-Matric Scholarship.(Only For Minorities)

Classes Covered: Classes XI to Ph.D including Technical Courses of Diploma
Amount of Scholarship:
I) XI & XII-@ Actual amount subject to a celling of Rs.7000/- per year for Day Scholar.
II) Technical/ Vocational Courses of XI & XII level-@Actual amount subject to a ceiling of Rs.10,000/- per year for Day Scholar.
III) Under Graduate/ Post Graduate courses-@Actual subject to a ceiling of Rs.3000/- per year for Day Scholar.

Scheme Sponsored by: Ministry of Minority Affairs, Govt. of India.
Income (upto): Rs. 2 Lakh.
Income Certificate issued by: Self Declaration.
How and Where to apply: Online + Hardcopy to the Deptt. for Welfare of SC/ST/OBC/Min., Govt. of NCT of Delhi, B-Block, Vikas Bhawan, New Delhi-110002.

  1. Merit-Cum-Means based Scholarship.(Only for Minorities)

Classes Covered: Technical and Professional courses of Graduation Level and above..
Amount of Scholarship:
I) Maintenance allowance of Rs. 10000/- per year for Hosteller, Rs.5000/- per year for Day Scholar.
II) Course fee Rs.20000/- per year or actual whichever is less(Hostler & Day Scholar) For courses Visit-Website WWW.minorityaffairs.gov.in

**Minority Students availing the above schemes sponsored by MOMA, GOI are advised as follows:

  1. The Hardcopy must be submitted to the Deptt. for the Welfare of SC/ST/OBC/Min., GNCTD well before the last date of submission.

II) At the Time of Submission, please get the documents checked by the concerned official who will inform you about the discrepancy, if any.
III) Correct it and submitted the document as advised by the official, it will ensure the acceptance of your application.
Scheme sponsored by: Ministry of Minority Affairs, Govt. of India.
Income(upto):Rs.2.50 Lakh.
Income Certificate: Self Declaration.
How and Where to apply: Online + Hardcopy to the Deptt. for the Welfare of SC/ST/OBC/Min., GNCTD.

  1. Pre-Matric for OBC.

Classes Covered: (Class I to X) Public School/ Govt./ Aided/ Kendriya/ Vidyalaya/ NDMC/ Delhi Cantonment Board.
Amount of Scholarship:
For Hostler
III to VIII-Rs.2000/-per year
IX to X- Rs.2500/-per year
For Scholar
I to V-Rs.250/-per year
VI to VIII-Rs.400/- per year
IX to X-Rs.500/- per year
Scheme Sponsored by: Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (Govt. of India).
Income(upto): Rs.44500/-
Income Certificate issued by: Self Declaration.
How and Where to apply: Through school/Directly to the Deptt. for the Welfare of SC/ST/OBC/Min. as the case may be.

  1. Post Matric Scholarship for SC/ST/OBC.

Classes Covered: (Class XI to Ph.D.).
Amount of Scholarship: Maintenance Allowance
Hosteller- Rs.380/- to Rs.1200/- per month
Day Scholar
Rs.230/- to Rs. 550/- per month.
Full Tuition fee, Registration Fee, Examination Fee, as applicable.
Schemes Sponsored by: Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (Govt. of India)
Income: SC- Rs. 2Lakh
ST-Rs. 2Lakh
SC-Rs.1Lakh
Income Certificate: From the area SDM, Govt. of NCT of Delhi.
How and Where to apply: Through the Department of Higher Education/ TTE/ NDMC/ KVS/ DCB as the case may be.

Delhi Government Schemes

  1. Name of the Scheme: Reimbursement of Tuition Fees SC/ST/OBC/Min.

Classes Covered: (Class I to XII) Public School Minimum 50% Marks & 80% attendance for class (VI-XII) in the previous exam.
Amount of Scholarship:
1.Income upto Rs.60,000/-100% reimbursement of fee.
2.Income from Rs.60,001 to Rs. 2,00,000/-75% reimbursement of the amount of fee.
Income (Upto): Rs.2Lakh.
Income Certificate issued by: SDM.
How and Where to apply: Through School/ Directly to the Deptt. for Welfare of SC/ST/OBC/Min. as the case may be

  1. Name of the Scheme: Scholarship/Merit Scholarship Schools SC/ST/OBC/Min.

Classes Covered: (Studying in College/Technical/ Professional Institutions)
Minimum 60% Marks in the previous exam.
Amount of Scholarship:
Group ‘A’ Degree Courses
Med.Engg.etc
Hostler-Rs.19440/-per year
Day Scholar-Rs.10800/- per year
*Post Graduate Courses of Above
Hostler: Rs.22320/-per year
Day Scholar: Rs.11520/- per year

Group ‘B’ Diploma Level Courses
Hostler-Rs.13320/-per year
Day Scholar-Rs.8640/-per year

Group ‘C’ Certificate Courses in Engg./Technology.Medicine etc.
Hostler-Rs.13320/- per year.
Day Scholar-Rs.7560/- per year.

Group ‘D’ General Courses
Hostler-Rs.9648/- per year
Day Scholar-Rs.5040/-per year

  1. Name of the Scheme: Scholarship/Merit Scholarship Schools SC/ST/OBC/MIN.

Classes Covered: Class 1st to XII Public School/ Govt./ Aided/ Kendriya Vidyalaya/ NDMC/ Delhi Cantonment Board.
Amount of Scholarship:

  1. SC/ST/Minority Students

I to VIII-Rs.1000/-Per year
(No percentage of marks required)

  1. OBC-VI to VIII

Rs.600/- Per year (55% to 60% marks in the previous class)
Rs. 720/- Per year (60% and above marks in the previous class)

c) SC/ST/OBC/Minority Students
i) IX to X
Rs.1620/- Per Year (50% to 60% marks in the previous class)
Rs. 2040/-Per Year (60% & above marks in the previous class)
ii) XI to XII
Rs.3000/-Per Year (55% to 70% marks in the previous class)
Rs.4500/-Per year(Above 70% marks in the previous class)

Income (upto): For SC/ST No Limit OBC/Min.Rs. 2 lakh income.
Certificate issued by: Self Declaration.
How and Where to apply: Through School/ Directly to the Deptt. for Welfare of SC/ST/OBC/Min. as the case may be

  1. Name of the Scheme: Free Supply @of Stationery for SC/ST/OBC/Min.

Classes Covered: I to VIII and IX to XII (Public School/ Govt. Aided / Kendriya Vidyalaya Board)
Amount of Scholarship: Rs.1000/- per year”2000/-per year @should not have less than 70% attendance in previous Academic Year.
Income(upto): For SC/ST Rs.2 Lakh/ODC/Min.Rs.2 Lakh income.
Certificate issued by: Self Declaration.
How and Where to apply: Through School/ Directly to the Deptt. for Welfare of SC/ST/OBC/Min. as the case may be

  1. Name of the Scheme: Dr. Ambedkar State Awards to toppers Classes covered 15 listed institutions.

Classes Covered: 15 listed institutions.
Amount of Scholarship : Rs.8000/- in each scheme
Income(upto): SC/ST/OBC/MIN.
Income Certificate issued by: No Income limit.
How and Where to apply: Deptt. for Welfare of SC/ST/OBC/Min.
