“Cost benefit assessment of CNG introduction in Delhi"
Activities to be carried out by Consultancy Development Centre
The work should be carried out as per the objective, methodology and time schedule mentioned in the project proposal. As components of the work, the project should include.
| 1. |
Compilation and analysis of the data pertaining to quantum of pollution levels before the introduction of CNG |
| 2. |
Assessment of the investments made for |
| |
-- |
Setting up of CNG stations including laying of pipes for supplying CNG. |
| |
-- |
Conversion of diesel/petrol kits into CNG kits in respect of buses, autos and taxies. |
| |
-- |
CNG kit production facilities |
| |
|
The following parameters shall be covered |
| |
|
- |
Pollution load and air quality including Poly-aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAH) as well as Oxides of Nitrogen before and after introduction of CNG alongwith suggestions for their remedies. |
| |
|
- |
Investment for CNG supply infrastructure |
| |
|
- |
Investment for CNG introduction in different categories of automobiles. |
| |
|
- |
Investment for retrofitting of CNG kits |
| |
|
- |
Recurring cost for CNG suppliers and users as well as vehicle maintenance cost for CNG vehicles. |
| |
|
- |
Saving in fuel cost. |
| 3. |
Quantification of reduction in air pollution load and its contribution to air quality improvement. |
| 4. |
On the basis of the above, the following shall be analyzed: |
| |
| -- |
Whether the relationship between the investments and the benefits accrued in terms of pollution control is linear or non-linear? |
| -- |
Whether the reduction in pollution is proportional to the investments? |
| -- |
The limits for which the linearity in proportion works. | |
| 5. |
Conducting a post-project cost benefit analysis after the introduction of Delhi |
| 6. |
Assessment in terms of health benefit due to introduction of CNG in City |
| 7. |
Scope for further improvement in ambient air quality and investments to be made in CNG/other proven technologies. |
| |

“Optimization of conditions for reducing the BOD loads as well as TSS of sewage up to the standards for STPs (BOD-10 mg/1; TSS-15mg/1)”
| 1. |
Isolation of autochthonous bacterial population from sewage |
| 2. |
Formulation of different microbial consortia using these isolated bacterial strains |
| 3. |
Assessment of the Biodegradation capability of the formulated microbial consortia in terms of removal of the BOD load as well as reduction in total suspended solids of sewage samples |
| 4. |
Optimization of conditions for reducing the BOD load as well as TSS of sewage upto the standards for STPs (BOD-10 mg/1; TSS-15mg/1), which includes: Assessment of start up period for reducing the BOD load and TSS as well as assessment of time period is required to achieve steady state condition for reducing the BOD load as well as TSS of sewage upto the standards for STPs (BOD-10 mg/1; TSS-15mg/1). The Parameters, which shall be monitored are BOD, COD and TSS of each sewage samples to be used in the laboratories. BOD, COD and TSS shall be monitored at regular interval during the study mentioned at Sl. No. 3 and 4. After conducting study in the batch process, a study may also be conducted for activity at Sl. No. 4 for continuous flow process, which simulate actual field conditions. |
| 5. |
Assessment of microbial pollution load reduction through various options. The wastewater after each treatment will be checked for the presence of coliforms on selective media and will be compared with the coliform count before the treatment. |
